Worst emergency system I've seen in my life. The freshly renovated maternity ward is apparently outstanding with great staff, but I would rather drive over an hour to get to another hospital knowing that there are times when a guy with a known minor ear infection get to see a doctor faster than a guy with a bleeding eye. Miscommunication seem to be common between the staff as they mix you with other patients, refer you to the wrong people and plain forget you in a closet (yeah, it happens). In case of emergency I avoid this hospital now and instead take the hour-or-so drive out of town to another facility. The time you lose on the road is more than saved in the waiting room.

Extremely long wait and people who work there are very rude. Especially I spoke English and I had my friend help me out with nurses translating what they were saying and explaining to them why I was there. As many people do not speak English or speak very little English. And one lady said I think she could talk for herself in French until she noticed I was English.

What a horrible experience. Thank God I'm young and it's only a finger. I cannot imagine how it is for older people with real sickness.

Absolutely horrible service - my son was brought in via ambulance - not even a vital sign was taken - the triage nurse touched his belly where he had pain and when I asked what she whispered to the paramedic, she snapped "I'm not a doctor". They put my son in a room and not one nurse or doctor came in - I ran him to the washroom multiple times as he was very sick - not even a concern from a nurse or staff member. Once we informed them that we were taking him to the Children's Hospital and requested the paperwork from the paramedics did they show interest. A nurse shows up asking that I let them know when he goes to the bathroom again - we didn't even bother. Packed him up and drove the 50 minutes to the Children's - got A+++++ care there - and we were seen immediately. Good luck at Hôpital du Sûroit - if they didn't even take a second look at a young child brought in by ambulance I don't have high hopes for anyone else they bring in. Disappointing and shameful.

Arrived via ambulance, went from a stretcher to the waiting room, left alone in 10/10 pain,

I attempted to ask for help many times, they just said u have to wait. Left me alone to pass a stone with zero meds to help the pain or information on what was going on, when I asked for help, the nurse gave me attitude while I'm about to pass out from sever pain too. I asked to be transferred and they said you must leave on your own! Why accept the ambulance to the hospital if you can't help the person? I looked like a ghost passing that stone....I had no idea what was happening or why I had blood in my urine! I asked for help many times and they sent the security guard while I'm not even being rude in any shape or form but visibily in serious pain. I couldn't leave since I arrived via ambulance. Worst hospital ever! the security guard knew my situation and was very kind, he even told me to file a complaint when I get back on my feet and gave me the form. Imagine that..you say your in 10/10 pain and they send the security guard? yeah maybe he can beat u now that u can't stand on your own 2 feet! never again...that kinda bad! I rather risk my life going further away next time cause I know if it's serious, I just might die waiting! no wonder the ambulance drivers made a face like poor u when they knew I was going to valleyfield hospital. You should see the attitude on some of the staff faces...they don't care! not one bit! wrong field for these people! maybe a club bouncer would be better suited for them as a career. To all the folks who do attempt to help people there...thank u! too bad you work in a broken system and all your hard work is wasted!
